| Arcade junkies, brace yourself – this is the most
exciting gaming gizmo you're ever likely to see. |
| |
| What could be more pant-wettingly brilliant than an
arcade-style games controller with genuine arcade joysticks and
buttons, compatible with your PC or console, with access to 100s
of retro games? Paying less than £100 for it, that's what! Yes,
the X-Arcade isn't just innovative and ridiculously good fun –
it's amazingly priced too.
|
Traditionalists
will tell you the wheel was man's most important invention. But
does the wheel allow you to create your own arcade at home using
your PC or console? Does it heck! That's why we're declaring the
new X-Arcade the new King of inventions. This robust and
unbelievably ingenious gizmo is built exactly like the control
panel of a real games machine, with genuine arcade buttons and
joysticks; in fact it looks as if it's been lifted straight from
a full-size cabinet. |

|
| Obviously with an X-Arcade, the one thing you don't get is
the cabinet. But think about this: a traditional arcade would a)
cost you nearly £1500; b) take up half the room and c) cost you
nearly £1500. Yes, we realise technically speaking that a) and
c) are the same point, but we thought it was an important enough
one to make twice.
|

|
| Whether you prefer the ultra-playable retro classics or
modern graphically wondrous games, the X-Arcade can satisfy you.
It comes with details of how to download literally hundreds of
legendary retro games such as Ms Pacman, Space Invaders, Street
Fighter and Donkey Kong – the original versions, not crappy
rip-offs – and play them on your PC or console arcade stylee.
However, the X-Arcade is also compatible with CD-ROM/cartridge
games. Give modern games a classic feel with authentic arcade
controls!
|
The X-Arcade comes with a PC adapter, but if you'd prefer to
play coin-op classics on your console, the appropriate adapters
are also available from us see below. All twenty of the X-Arcade
buttons are programmable, so you can match buttons to the
corresponding ones on your console control pad. It's also
optimised for fighting and sport games, and even features two
pinball buttons, for the most realistic and involved xtreme
arcade xperience possible.
If you're sick of second-rate plastic control pads, the
X-Arcade's sturdy build from high quality injected wood will
come as a breath of fresh air. Traditional quality with a choice
of 100s of classic games – would your life be complete without
one? Thought not.

Anyone who buys the X-Arcade will certainly get what they pay for.
Seriously, there's nothing quite like setting up your iBook to
mirror on your 20 inch TV and bringing a friend and the X-Arcade up
to the living room for some good old Street Fighter Alpha 3 action,
or using the X-Arcade and a keyboard or a gamepad for some
four-player Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. |

We all have fond memories of our favourie arcade games and the
X-Arcade aims to revive them. Large and retro, the controller works
with PC, PS2 and Xbox. Just plug it into the PC, dowload some
classic arcade games from the internet and relive those childhood
moments. |

If your trips to the seaside as a young whippersnapper were more
about visiting the arcades on the seafront promenade than paddling
in our freezing, polluting seas, then the X-Arcade is sure to bring
a tear of nostalgia to your eye. It's a dedicated arcade controller
with an authentic joystick and pukka buttons. Ours came with a USB
connector pack for hooking it up to a PC or MAC, but there are other
packs available enabling you to connect the device to various games
consoles. We tried it out with the MAME arcade emulator, and quite
simply, it's the mutt's nuts. It might seem pretty expensive, but if
your serious about arcade games, its the best there is. |
